FOVA Membership

• Membership is open to organizations committed to appropriate funding for VA medical care and research programs with a particular interest in research.
• Members are listed in the FOVA budget document as endorsers of FOVA’s funding recommendations for VA medical care and health research.
• Members agree to advocate overall increases in VA appropriations accounts and will not pursue earmarked funding for special interests.
• Members are encouraged to incorporate advocacy for VA research in their own lobby activities and to support FOVA activities when requested.
• These generally include responding to timely FOVAlerts asking members to:
  • Urge legislators to sign on to Dear Colleague letters
  • Sign on to FOVA “sign on letters”
  • Generate grassroots letters, faxes, emails and phone calls at key times in the annual budget/appropriations process
• There is no cost to join FOVA. However, from time to time members may be asked to contribute to the cost of hosting special events.
