Friends of VA Medical Care and Health Research (FOVA) |
Who we are:FOVA was founded over 30 years ago to ensure that America's veterans receive high-quality health care. Today, FOVA is a diverse coalition representing national academic, medical, and scientific societies; voluntary health and patient advocacy groups; and veteran-focused associations. Among its many activities, FOVA members regularly brief members of Congress
on the funding needs of health care and research at the Department
of Veterans Affairs (VA), raise awareness of VA's medical care and
research programs, and host special events that highlight VA research
successes. What we do:FOVA makes annual funding recommendations for VA medical care, the medical
and prosthetics research program, and research facilities. How you can help:Membership in FOVA is open to organizations committed to appropriate
funding for VA health care and research programs and is free of charge. More information:Although FOVA membership in limited to organizations, anyone may sign
up for FOVAlerts on FOVA's activities and the status of the annual VA
research funding. Additionally, we provide FOVA letters, testimony, and
other resources of importance to advocacy for the VA research program,
including guidance on how federal employees can interact with elected
officials. Questions? Contact us:For additional information about FOVA or VA research, contact any member of the FOVA Executive Committee. |
